Week 1 starts this Saturday at St. Stephen's Elementary School on Highland Dr in the northend of Halifax (near NSCC on Leeds). Reminder: No washrooms on site.
The weather forecast is sunny with a high of 18 deg. C.
Parents bring a lawn chair, a hot or cold drink for yourself, and a hat.
Players - dress for the weather, and don't forget your mouth guard, and wear a numbered pinnie.
As we get into the routine...practice starts right at 10am sharp.
Before 10am players are to:
- get the gear on
- put on their shoes/cleats
- Complete their team warm-up
THIS SATURDAY, many players will not yet have a field stick. If you do not already have a stick, we will be handing out sticks to those players that are renting one. So please be there for 9:30am as handing out sticks takes a while. Please get into the habit of being at St. Stephens for 930am (parents can get their drink after dropping off the players). If you are renting a stick, please remember to bring your cheque book to write a $50 security check (this is returned with the return of the rental).
2018 Bluenose Pinnies should be here for next Saturday....so if you have a 2017 (or 2016) Bluenose pinnie (or any other pinnie with a number) please wear it. It will help with our evaluations.
Teams will be determined by next Saturday, when players will have a team practice, and then play a game.
Travel Teams: registation is going well for the travel teams.
For the Junior High Travel Team the following players have registered to go and play in the States. There is still room for six more players. No tryout required. Cost to join this Team is $100 (plue travel expenses).

Parents We will be looking for volunteers to assist with timing each game, and keeping score. This is a very easy task, and works really good when paired up with another parent. Once the teams are formed, we will be looking for 1-3 parents from each team to learn how to use a timer/stopwatch and how to record goals and penalties. This is a two-person task for each game. So bring a chair, pen and a clip board (or a good book).
We will see everyone on the field this Saturday.
